We live in the midwest, so typically we have to travel pretty far for interesting vacations. I’m happy to report, not this time. My kids (ages 12 and 16) said this was their favorite vacation behind the beaches of Florida and the mountains of Colorado. We did a 3 hour ATV tour and got shooting lessons. What a wild experience! Especially for these city kids.
The kids loved going to the small but quaint man-made lake on the property to zip line and swim. There’s a small slide that goes into the lake too.
The accommodations were luxurious and roomy. We most BBQ’d but the full kitchen was great. There’s a grocery about 10 minutes away where you can stock up on snacks and breakfast items and the cabins leave plenty of roam to stretch out.
Staff would stop by and take my kids and I out for a tour in their large ATV buggy on a whim and we would get to see huge elk and beautiful fawn babies just feet away. The ground are gorgeous and meticulously manicured.
Remarkable customer service. The manager Joe was amazing and great with kids. I highly recommend this vacation. It was truly a short trip that my kids will remember forever. Will be recommending this trip to all my family and friends. Price is really reasonable too, especially if you go during the week.

I’m afraid of heights, so this isn’t my idea of a way I want to spend my spare time, however, for family members or friends who are not, it’s an amazing view on a nice day and the ledge is a crazy out of body experience, giving you the feeling you’re walking on air over the city. I only peered over my children’s shoulders but they had no problem stepping onto the glass floor and gazing down 40 floors. This is a must for every Chicago visitor.
I stayed here a few weeks ago with my 3 children, ranging from ages 5 – 12. It was just me and the kids because we were visiting family. I left the husband at home to complete a honey-do list while I wrangled the kids on my own. I was thankful to have a theater and bookstore next door. The location is hands down the best in the Dallas area. Rooms were extremely small though and although aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, nothing that overly impressed me for a Hilton. Elevator always had a small piece of trash it in. Went up to the 4th floor several times and there was either a beer mug or fast food bag in there. Often times staff were completely absent and I felt deserted but when I did see staff, they were very helpful and friendly. Overall, I’d say this play is worth the money for the location alone. Look for deals on the hotel sites and you will be pleased. I cannot stress enough how awesome the location is.
