About American Museum of Natural History
Located across the street from Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History allows families to explore wildlife, fossils, animal models and skeletons as well as the overall exploration of our ecosystem. Permanent exhibits include life size dinosaur bones and fossils, gems, planetary science, IMAX theater, human origins, mammals, Theodore Roosevelt Memorial, Birds and Reptiles and biodiversity.
Family programming includes hands on activities for youngsters, live performances (schedules vary), weekend child friendly labs where kids meet scientists, nature walks. The Discovery Room Exhibit for children ages 5 – 12 offers hands on activities for youngsters including touching model skeletons and digging in sand.
