The Exploratorium is a hands-on science center and museum located at Pier 15 in San Francisco, California. The museum first opened in 1969 but has only been in its new state-of-the-art location since 2013. Geared toward families, the museum has a number of interactive exhibits with most offering something for toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children all to enjoy. The museum is divided into five galleries. In the South Gallery, children can experiment with Tinkering exhibits, while the East Gallery immerses visitors in the living world of biology. Visit the West Gallery for an in-depth look at what it means to be human and the North Gallery to learn more about weather, tides and winds. The Central Gallery features exhibits related to the five senses.
