About Lincoln Park Zoo

One of the nations oldest zoos, the Lincoln Park Zoo is nestled in the heart of Chicago’s near north side creating a natural oasis inside a bustling urban environment. Free to get in, the Lincoln Park Zoo boasts over 1,100 animals. Exhibits of special interest to children include the Pritzker Family Children’s Zoo which features an indoor climbing rope playground, the AT&T Endangered Species Carousel ride*, the Lincoln Park Zoo Train Ride* (recommended for children 2 – 12), the penguin and polar bear habitat, sea lion pool, the Kovler Lion House, the Robert R. McCormick Bear Habitat, a nature boardwalk which contrasts city skyscrapers with native trees, plants and nature and the Farm-in-the-Zoo, a small petting zoo and barn. The Lincoln Park Zoo is open 365 days a year and puts on a wonderful festival of lights during the holidays.
