About Millennium Park
Located just steps from Lake Michigan and just east of Chicgao’s Loop district, this downtown park is free and open to the public. Millennium Park is also adjacent to Grant Park, home of yearly Lollapoolza music festival. Point of interest highlights include the Cloud Gate sculpture which known by most locals as “the bean.” This massive sculpture dons a mirrored coating, allowing visitors to view distorted forms of the Chicago skyline and themselves. Other highlights include the Crown Fountain — a 120 foot tall digital black granite splashing fountain (kids visiting in the summer months may want to bring their swimsuits). The fountain surprises visitors as the digital imagery of faces pucker up and squirt water out of their mouths onto children and spectators below. Other points of interest include the BP Pedestrian Bridge, Wrigley Square, McDonald’s Cycle Center, outdoor art galleries, pavilions for concerts and acres of outdoor gardens, flowers, ponds and much more!
